The official CCSE exam questions
The 25 questions in each CCSE exam are taken from a bank published by the Instituto Cervantes. In this app you can practise with 300 official questions, each with its written explanation.
An exam with no surprises
Few exams publish their questions in advance. The CCSE does, and that turns preparation into a bounded problem: there's no open syllabus to cover, there's a known set of questions to work through until you can answer it confidently.
The bank is revised periodically, so the version in force is always the one the Instituto Cervantes publishes. Practising with out-of-date material is the most expensive silent mistake in this preparation.
What the questions are like
They're short and direct, with no long passages to read first. Most are multiple choice with three possible answers and only one correct.
The exception is the second task, which poses true-or-false statements adapted from the Constitution. One of the tasks may use a map for the questions on territorial organisation and geography.
Why memorising the letter doesn't work
Many questions in the bank resemble each other and change a single detail. Anyone who memorises that “the answer is b” gets it wrong as soon as the options are reordered or the same thing is asked from another angle.
That's why every question here carries its own explanation: understanding why an answer is right means you also get the neighbouring questions right, and that's what actually raises your score.
Why we don't publish the whole bank here
You won't find the questions listed openly on this site. They're practised inside the app, with a free account, because practising means answering, getting it wrong and going back over the mistake — not reading a list top to bottom.
If what you want is the raw official material, the Instituto Cervantes preparation manual is free and on their website. This app is an independent product, not a copy of the manual.
How to practise them effectively
Practising well is no mystery: short sessions every day, starting with the tasks that weigh most in the exam, and targeted review of what you got wrong.
Inside the app you can practise at random, practise a specific task, review only your outstanding mistakes, and save questions to come back to. After a few sessions, a full mock exam will tell you where you really stand.
Frequently asked questions

- The Instituto Cervantes publishes the complete bank in its free preparation manual. This app has 300 official questions published, each with an explanation.
- Are the CCSE questions always the same?
- The bank is updated periodically, so it's worth always practising with the version in force, which is the one the Instituto Cervantes publishes.
- Can I see the questions without creating an account?
- Not in this app: practice requires a free account, which is also what makes it possible to save your mistakes and your progress. The official Instituto Cervantes manual is freely and openly available.
- Do the questions come with explanations?
- Yes. Every published question includes an original explanation written for this app, not copied from the official manual.
